Further Education and Training Certificate: Advertising – NQF 4
The purpose of this qualification is to equip entry-level persons in the advertising industry with the competence required to supply support services in an advertising environment. The qualification is aimed at improving learning capability and equipping learners with competitive skills and client service competence. They learn how to facilitate communication in and by the advertising sector. The qualification is made up of the following modules which are done over a period of 12 months.

Traffic assistants, Archivists, Art buyers, Artist assistants, Production assistants (radio or television), Strategy data gatherers, Media analysts, Production accounts processors, Creative or art director secretaries, Client service secretaries, Brand assistants
Upon completion of theoretical & practical training, an FET Certificate will be issued from the Department of Higher Education & Training through MICTSETA.
Further Education and Training Certificate: Film and Television Production Operations – NQF 4
The FET Certificate: Film and Television Production Operations aims to provide students with the knowledge and practical skills required to perform effectively in a Film and Television environment. The purpose of the qualification is to provide students with the ability to work in the field of Film and Television industry. Students will specialize and choose a major subject which could either be, Directing & Producing, Lighting & Camera operations, Sound Operations and Post Production Editing. Students will be guided through this process and minimum standards and numbers apply in some electives. The qualification is made up of the following modules which are done over a period of 12 months
National Certificate N4 – N6:
Directing 1, Producing 1, Film Production 1, Camerawork, Lighting + Sound 1.
Electives:
Camerawork, Lighting + Sound 2, Editing 1, Scriptwriting 1, Film Production 2.
Director, Producer, Video Editor, Cinematographer, Production Manager/Assistant , VFX editor, Camera Operator.
Upon completion of theoretical & practical training, an FET Certificate will be issued from the Department of Higher Education & Training through MICTSETA.
FET Certificate: Sound Technology – NQF 4
The qualification is made up of the following modules which are done over a period of 12 months.
Semester 01:
Music Theory, Audio Electronics, Audio Production, Steinberg Theory, Sound Theory, Music Practical.
Semester 02:
Audio Recording, Sound Theory, Post Production, Steinberg Practical, Mixing & Mastering, Production Year Project.
Studio assistant, Producer, Live event technician/engineer, Stage engineer, Recording technician/engineer, Mastering technician/engineer.
Upon completion, a National Certificate will be issued from the Department of Higher Education & Training through MICTSETA.
National Certificate: Journalism – NQF 5
Recipients of this qualification are able to write a variety of journalism texts and report at entry level. The qualification is designed to be flexible and accessible to all in journalism and wishing to enter journalism after undergraduate study or equivalent experience. It allows people to write and report in accordance with the requirements of a specific media news enterprise. The qualification is made up of the following modules which are done over a period of 12 months.
Semester 01:
Compu-typing, Desktop publishing, Communication Science, Language Science.
Semester 02:
News reporting, Media Production, Photoshop for photographers, Media Law.
News Reporters, Investigative Reporters, Newspaper & Magazine Sub-Editor, Print Journalist/Reporting, Radio Journalism/Reporting, Public Relations Agent.
Upon completion, a National Certificate will be issued from the Department of Higher Education & Training through MICTSETA.
National Diploma: Popular Music Performance N4 – N6
The qualification is for those students who want to go into the artistry of music and primarily covers Composition, Performance and Studio Work. This qualification is made up of the following modules which are done over a period of 18 months.
National Certificate N4 – N6:
Music Business and Styles, Aural ensemble, Improvisation, Instrumentation (from electives).
Electives:
Guitar, Piano, Keyboard, Bass guitar, Drums, Percussion.
National Certificate (N3):
Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science, Electro-technics, Industrial Electronics.
Musician, Instrumentalist, Audio Visual Scorer.
Upon completion of every level, certification will be issued from the Department of Higher Education & Training [DHET]. A Diploma will be issued by the Department of Higher Education & Training [DHET] on completion of N6 as well as two (2) years on the job training/attachment in the relevant industry.
FET Certificate: Photography - NQF 4
The FET Certificate in Photography is designed to equip students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to perform effectively in the professional photography industry. The purpose of the qualification is to provide students with the relevant academic exposure, visual literacy, practical skills and professional attitudes as is appropriate to this market area. The graduates will be competent in the fields of commercial, fine art and documentary photography which will include black and white photography and printmaking, studio lighting, digital photography and related photo editing processes. The qualification is made up of the following modules which are done over a period of 12 months.
SEMESTER 01:
Visual Communication I , Applied Photography I , Studio Photography I, Digital Media I, Entrepreneurship Skills.
SEMESTER 02
Visual Communication II, Applied Photography II, Studio Photography II, Digital Image Manipulation I, Portfolio Project.
Commercial Photographer, Photographic Assistant, Photographic Retail Representative, Stock Photographer, Photojournalist, Social and Events photographer, Newspaper and Magazine photographer, Photographic Lab Assistant or Manager, Film Stills Photographer in the movie industry.
Upon completion of 12 months theoretical and in house practical training, a Further Education and Training Certificate in Photography will be issued.
